The headline above reflects one of the many fantastically strange story elements in the tale of Bennie Heard,
recounted in The New York Times over the weekend. I've had several people ask me about the article but hadn't had a chance to dig it up until today.
It's really remarkable. I recommend you read it. My "day job" boss said of it, "It sounds like it should be made into a movie."
I have some trepidation about a 48-year-old man, "physical freak" or not, former amateur great or not, inspiration to Vernon Forrest or not, getting into a boxing ring on a professional level. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't drawn to the story.
