I saw that in his boxrec listing. I almost included Adamek in the list (just for ending Tomasz with a "z") but figured that it can't be that interesting a name if two boxers share it!

Fury is a better name than boxer right now, in my opinion. Rigondeaux is one of my absolute favorites, he's just not ranked yet.

Great names, just didn't fit my criteria. I remember Jaca, he had a pretty nice fight with Marquez if I remember right.

Another funny tidbit on Uzelkov is that he beat Tomas Adamek in his last fight...yeah, that's right, THE Tomas Adamek. Oh wait, the real one is spelled Tomasz, guess he just beat the cheap Adamek knockoff!

Celestino Caballero isn't just a Gentleman, he's a Pale Blue (in Italian) one!

Two more names for the list:
Tyson Fury: Seriously, his first name is the same as the last name of one of the most popular boxers in history, and his last name is FURY!

Guillermo Rigondeaux is a gret name too. - Unifythebelts (Dan P.)

He didn't meet my arbitrary criteria of being ranked by Ring, otherwise he would be there for his name AND his nickname.

Good call on Agbeko, I must have overlooked him because his full name was not listed by Ring. Yes, King Kong is indeed his middle name.

Best nickname? There are so many. Does Juan "The Hispanic Causing Panic" Lazcano count? I've always been partial to James "Lights Out" Toney, myself. Best nickname is tough... - Scott Kraus

I believe you misunderstood the intent of this article. These are the most interesting names in boxing, not the best fighters. I would work on your reading comprehension skills. Joke's on you, buddy.

I limited myself to active boxers in the Ring rankings, otherwise Z would have made it. So too would have Guillermo Rigondeaux, another favorite of mine that I had to leave off based on my restrictions.

You're right on both counts, about Agbeko and Mr. Gym. I'm strongly considering changing my last name.

Best nicknames? I haven't updated this entry lately, but here's my last weighing in on the topic:
